{Nuggets of Wisdom} What life season are you in?

Is your life season connected to your inner healing?

It’s an interesting concept to think about your current season from the perspective of your healing. At first the two seem completely separate, however we find that our internal healing work will have a huge impact on the season you are in. It has the power to change the trajectory of the direction you’re going.

Personal healing looks like consistent self care, self examination, prayer, proper nutrition, journaling, therapy and internal work towards processing through the pains and traumas of your past or current life. We need a combination of practical and spiritual tools to properly heal, and understanding the season you’re currently in will support your healing practices.

“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”

Jeremiah 17:14

Let’s examine our current life season by asking a few questions:

  1. What are my needs in this season?
  2. How will I get those needs met?
  3. Do I need to forgive?
  4. Do I need to reconcile any relationships?
  5. Have I considered how my behavior has affected others?

These questions are a great way to access where you are and what you need. Why is this so important? It’s important because it helps minimize conflicts with others, keeps you connected to your own thoughts, feelings and emotions, and it helps to guide your prayer life.

Depending on how you answer these questions, will determine what kind of life season you are currently in. Knowing where you are will help guide you to where you want to be. If you’re a planner, a journaler, or active in therapy as you move through these seasons its a great way to measure personal growth.

What’s Your Season?

  1. Building/Sowing:

You feel rested and ready. You feel equipped or you know where to get the help you need. You have a vision and are ready to execute. You’ve prayed. You’ve fasted. You’ve sought mentoring, accountability and wise counsel.

  1. Resting/Stillness:

You’re just coming out of a hard time. You’re exhausted from stress, trauma, or lack of self care. You need internal work on boundaries. You have unhealed wounds. You need guidance. You need vision. You need support. You have desires but lack focus. You need to hear from God about what’s next.

  1. Serving/Learning:

Your passion is building but you need clarity, direction and accountability. You desire mentorship. You desire to learn new tools. You desire to grow from the inside out. You have enough balance to serve others healthily.

  1. Harvest/Reaping:

You see the fruits of God’s work in your life coming to pass. Your healing shows in your reactions & responses. Your confidence is in Christ not your works. You can communicate your wants and needs clearly. You can forgive, hold boundaries, and maintain your peace despite other’s behaviors.
